NJPW has gone through quite a few changes over the past few years, especially after some top talent have left the company. The promotion had a huge event this week but unfortunately, several talent were pulled from the event due to illness.

According to Tokyo Sports, it was reported six foreign wrestlers will be absent from New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Miyagi/Sendai tournament on the 7th due to suffering from various illnesses.

Prior to the tournament starting that day, it was announced that Jeff Cobb, Hikuleo, Gabe Kidd, Alex Coughlin, Lio Rush, and Kevin Knight would not be participating in the tournament.

It was further noted that Rio was absent from the Akita tournament on October 3rd, Coughlin and Knight were absent from the Iwate tournament on the 4th, Hikuleo and Gabe failed to make it for the Aomori tournament on the 5th, and Cobb was also absent on this day.

It was also reported that Lio Rush was dealing with an illness prior to this tournament, so his absence wasn’t unexpected. Regardless, we certainly hope all the aforementioned talent will recover from their illnesses as soon as possible.
