According to PW Insider, the angle on Friday night’s SmackDown, where Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza were attacked, was intended to set up a return at the upcoming PPV event. During Fastlane, the LWO will face off against the Street Profits and Bobby Lashley.

Sources within WWE have indicated that this move was made to facilitate the return of Carlito. The former IC Champion has been under a new contract with WWE since the summer and has been waiting for the right moment to make his comeback. Carlito made his first WWE appearance in a while, back in May at WWE Backlash in Puerto Rico.
