The Rock and John Cena had chance to have a face-to-face during SmackDown in Denver. That was a brief on-screen interaction, but the two were able to say a lot more as well.

While speaking to Kayla Braxton on WWE The Bump, John Cena was asked about reuniting with his formal rival, The Rock. Then Cena rephrased it to call The Rock his friend instead.

“Thank you for your question, but let me reframe it, ‘what was it like to see a friend that I haven’t seen in a long time?’ In between the times that we’ve spent with each other, I’ve openly come to a realization that the first attempt of us competing against each other probably was a professional mistake on my past.”

“I’ve been very apologetic, and very open with my apology that the way I conducted business was not in the realm of conducting good business. We did great business. It was good to see him and reconnect after all this time. That was the first time we’d seen each other since I publicly apologized for that, and I just wanted to make sure he heard that face-to-face again, and it’s good to see a friend.”

The Rock certainly surprised fans in Denver with his appearance. Then he had a nice little meeting with John Cena as well. Only time will tell where they reunite again, because it may take place in the Fast & Furious franchise next.
