We previously reported that Jon Moxley will have to go through concussion protocols before he is cleared to make return to the ring. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that there is some heat on Fenix after that spot where the former AEW World Champion suffered a concussion.

Most thought watching it that it was the Fenix driver that hurt him and he had a stinger and couldn’t kick out, but the Fenix driver didn’t hurt him at all. Knox not counting took it down but Moxley told Knox what was going on and wasn’t happy, and Fenix gave him another Fenix driver and again he didn’t kick out but Knox counted to three the Fenix got the International title. It was noted that Fenix took heat in a lot of places for hurting him with his finisher when it was totally safe. Moxley was feeling better when he got to the back and they gave him tests and called it a minor concussion.

Jon Moxley actually wrestled that entire match with a concussion, because it happened in the early moments of their contest. Those two finishers from Fenix at the end didn’t contribute to Jon Moxley’s condition, but he wouldn’t have needed to take two if Rick Knox would have just counted to three after the first one as he was told.

We will have to see how Fenix’s International Title run turns out. He is a great wrestler, but this situation is just further proof that you never know what can happen in the ring.
