WWE fired over 100 people on Friday last week, and that shocked a few people. Then again, many expected this to go down after the massive UFC and WWE merger. Some areas of the company were hit harder than others.

We previously reported that a few certain divisions within WWE were hit really hard with the releases. Those departments included podcasting, WWE Network, and analytics

During a discussion about the recent mass layoffs on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer initially provided insights into the significant impact on WWE’s analytics and marketing departments. He revealed that the analytics department had witnessed a substantial reduction in staff, plummeting from 20 employees to only three by the end of the week.

“Over 100 layoffs on Friday. They gutted divisions, it was basically analytics, marketing, and I guess the idea is UFC already has those departments, and they can handle both. So those were two of the departments really hard hit.”

WWE and UFC are keeping their media rights talks separate. That being said, a few things will be handled by the same division. It appears that WWE and UFC have figured out a lot of redundancies.
