Pat McAfee became a big name in the world of the NFL before making his way to WWE. Fans had no idea just how integral McAfee would become in the company during his tenure there. After a long time, Pat McAfee returned on Smackdown this week and had a segment with The Rock.
Pat McAfee made his return on this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, where he was confronted by Austin Theory. It was then followed by The Rock returning after almost four years and laying the Smackdown on Theory.
The segment ended with Pat McAfee hitting a People’s Elbow on Austin Theory as well. Following Smackdown this week, Pat McAfee spoke to Kayla Braxton and described his feelings at getting to share the ring with The Rock. McAfee made it clear that it was a dream come true for him.
”Tonight to get to be in the ring, I saw all of it happen, the spinebuster, the People’s Elbow, the eyebrow raise, the ‘It doesn’t matter’ and ‘You are an a*******’ chant. The WWE, my entire life has been my dream destination and everything I have been able to do here I’m incredibly lucky for, thankful for, grateful for, I’m happy to be back for sure. I just got to do the People’s Elbow with The Rock, I’m living not only my dream but pretty much every kid that grew up in my generation’s dream, so I hope I’m doing you guys proud, I’m trying to enjojy and I’m beyond thankful for it all.”
We will have to wait and see when Pat McAfee will make his return to WWE television once again, as fans certainly enjoyed seeing him share the ring with The Rock on Smackdown.
