The Rock’s name could bring a lot of star power to any show, and Pat McAfee was more than happy to have him on his broadcast today for a very long talk. During that time together, the two media heavyweights were able to chop it up about a few very interesting topics, including what happened with The Rock and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.

We previously reported that The Rock admitted that he was supposed to wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. That didn’t happen, but it turns out that next year is certainly on the table.

While speaking on the Pat McAfee show, The Rock explained that they “put the pencil down” on the idea of facing Roman Reigns at this year’s showcase of the immortals. That’s not to say WrestleMania 40 isn’t a possibility.

“We got really close, but we couldn’t figure out what that thing was, so we decided to put our pencils down, and we agreed, ‘hey listen, there’s a merger coming up, there’s WrestleMania coming up in Philly, that’ll happen.’ I’m saying that is potential too, I’m open.”

The live crowd in Colorado really appreciated the idea of seeing The Rock take on Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. This tease brought interest from Pat McAfee as well. The Rock didn’t confirm anything, or make a big announcement, but it doesn’t seem out of the question.

It was previously noted that The Rock couldn’t get ready in time for WrestleMania. It appears that it might have been more of a creative issue, because they want The Rock vs Roman Reigns to be an unforgettable match with an exceptional story to go with it.

Only time will tell if The Rock and Roman Reigns find each other in the ring again some day. We promise that we will be the first to let you know about it if it does go down right here at Ringside News.
