AEW made a lot of headlines when they released CM Punk from his contract. Now, it appears that another star is officially gone from the company.

We previously reported that Sonny Kiss was no longer on the AEW roster. They haven’t been featured on television in a while, and now we know that means AEW has one fewer star.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall to confirm that, as of September 1st, Sonny Kiss is no longer an AEW star. This was not a case of a release, as contracts do expire if they’re not renewed.

Sonny Kiss has finished up with AEW.

AEW removed Sonny Kiss from their roster page at the end of August, prompting questions about Sonny’s status. Fightful reached out to Sonny and confirmed that as of September, Sonny is no longer with AEW.

We’re told that Sonny’s deal has expired.

Sonny Kiss spoke out in the past about how being trans might have limited the ways AEW could book their direction on television. That is a shame, and now Kiss’ fans will have to catch them elsewhere.

AEW All Out is coming for fans this week, but Sonny Kiss won’t be there. Odds are, Sonny Kiss will keep making a mark in the pro wrestling world, but it won’t be in Tony Khan’s company.
