Trish Stratus Seemingly Okay With WWE Taking Her Off SummerSlam Card

Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch have been in an ongoing feud that has spanned several months. It all started after WrestleMania 39, and their match didn’t happen at SummerSlam as it was expected. Now, the two will end things at Payback.

Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus’ initial encounter took place at the WWE Night of Champions premium live event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This match concluded when Zoey Stark emerged from beneath the ring to attack Lynch, resulting in Trish’s victory. A subsequent match occurred on a recent episode of Raw but ended abruptly as Stark rushed the ring to assault Lynch, leading to a disqualification. They were subsequently booked for another Raw match, which ultimately concluded in a double countout.

Before SummerSlam earlier this month, reports indicated that WWE opted not to feature their significant showdown on the card due to severe time constraints. A Slim Jim Battle Royal was moved onto the card instead, because WWE was raking in ton of cash from that deal.

As a result of this change, WWE has scheduled their climactic encounter for this Saturday’s Payback PLE event, where they will face each other inside a steel cage. The company has been building that match for a whle now.

While speaking to The New York Post ahead of her match at WWE Payback, Trish Stratus was asked about the match not taking place at SummerSlam.

“At the end of the day, as long as we deliver, as long as we leave the fans entertained, satisfied, Stratus-fied that’s what my goal is to come here and do the things we never got to do, show them something they’ve never [seen] before.”

Trish Stratus has already said that she can’t wait to get her feud with Becky Lynch over with. After all, the two have been in a rivalry for months. Now, it appears that she is going to get that done at Payback.

Trish Status got to have a few new matches for her career since returning to WWE. She was in the Money in the Bank match, and now she will battle Becky Lynch in a steel cage. Only time will tell what’s next for the WWE Hall of Famer.
