You never know where Batista will pop up next, and it appears that The Animal is getting into the Mortal Kombat world. The Dune star recently appeared in the new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer, and fans are intrigued.
The official trailer for the Mortal Kombat 1 video game dropped, and Batista is center stage. This game will drop on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 14th, 2023. As with every entry in the MK series, there is a certain amount of anticipation.
The famous NetherRealm Studios fighting game is published by Warner Bros. Games. The synopsis of the game tells quite a story.
“It’s In Our Blood. Discover a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe created by Fire God Liu Kang. Mortal Kombat 1 ushers in a new era of the iconic franchise with a new fighting system, game modes, and Fatalities!”
It’s unclear when Batista filmed this commercial, but the SAG-AFTRA Strike really threw a wrench in his plans. His Dune II release is getting pushed back due to the strike, but he is not using this opportunity for a WWE return run like John Cena is.
As Ringside News exclusively reported, John Cena’s WWE return was in the works since the SAG-AFTRA strike started. That strike, while it put Hollywood at a standstill, turned into an opportunity for WWE. We’ll have to see if Batista ever returns to WWE for any reason, but a Hall of Fame induction is still likely, after all, his previous induction needed to be postponed due to the pandemic.
