Cody Rhodes is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in WWE right now. His stock only increased after WrestleMania 38. Rhodes is clearly a massive star now in WWE, which is evident by how fans react to him every week on WWE television. Now it appears he cut an emotional promo after Smackdown went off the air this week.

Bray Wyatt passed away at the age of 36, shocking fans and the pro wrestling world alike as they slowly come to terms with such a tragic loss. Prior to that, even Terry Funk passed away earlier this week.

Cody Rhodes appeared on the show as he paid tribute to Terry Funk while retelling a story about his father Dusty Rhodes. After the show concluded, Cody Rhodes competed against Austin Theory in a match. Following his win, Cody Rhodes cut an emotional promo on the crowd in order to send them home happy.

Tonight the ony thing, let’s give a huge round of applause to this amazing production team that’s been here all night. I just want you to know it’s my honor and privilege to be here. So god bless you guys, take care of one another. I expect to see each and every one of you when WWE comes back to Louisville.
