Roman Reigns and the Bloodline’s saga has captured WWE television for years at this point, and that only causes fans to speculate more. Many plans have been bounce around for Roman Reigns, especially at WrestleMania 40, but now we know the direction.

WrestleMania 40 will take over Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, April 6th, and Sunday, April 7th, 2024. The showcase of the immortals will undoubtedly bring a loaded two-night event to Philly.

Roman Reigns is still going strong as Undisputed Universal Champion, and there is a lot of ground to cover before April rolls around. That being said, WWE has a direction for their main event for the show of shows next year.

Ringside News was told by a tenured member of the creative team that, “things can change, and that’s something to note,” but Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes has always been the “obvious direction” for WrestleMania 40. It was also noted that this has been the “theory since before their match at WrestleMania 39.”

Cody Rhodes lost to Roman Reigns last year at WrestleMania 39, and that was a shocking move for many fans. Rhodes did not get to “finish his story,” and he made a point after Mania to say that a new story has started. That being said, he can always circle back around to finish what he never completed with the Tribal Chief.

The Bloodline is going through quite a period of turmoil. Jey Uso quit WWE this week, and Roman Reigns’ entire faction will miss next week’s SmackDown show in Toronto. Cody Rhodes is still a featured name on WWE RAW as well, so only time will tell how WWE accomplishes this angle.
