Big E suffered a broken neck when he did not make a full rotation during a German suplex from Ridge Holland over a year ago. That was a tragedy, but at least Big E did not require surgery. The former WWE Champion also has no nerve pain due to the injury.

We previously reported that Big E was backstage at NXT Heatwave. He wanted to see Trick Williams do his thing, and Big E has also helped out with WWE tryouts. At this time, he has not made his return to television, let alone the ring.

While speaking to Wrestling News, Big E revealed that he actually has no nerve pain due to his injury. He is very grateful about that, although this situation with a broken neck is not something that he ever wanted.

“I feel incredible. Thank you for asking, but yeah, I’m really grateful for that. It’s very sobering when you talk to spine specialists and other medical professionals and they let you know, like, ‘Hey, you’re very fortunate because if this was me, we’re talking about stroke or paralysis or death.’ If it wasn’t, thankfully, having a pretty muscular neck really saved me. So you realize, one, how dangerous what we do is. Please don’t try this. We say that for a reason, but also, you know, more than anything, it kind of made me grateful for life, grateful for the fact that I’m still here. I have no nerve pain, no muscular issues. I feel incredible. Honestly, this past year, I have just felt so,so good, I’m so grateful for that.”

Kofi Kingston recently made his return to WWE television, but Big E is still waiting for that time to come for him. Only time will tell when that will happen, or if he even wants to take the risks involved with returning after such a terrible injury.

Big E is luckier than a lot of people who suffered from a broken neck. He can walk, and he has no lingering pain because of it. He said there is no timeline for his return. Perhaps he is going to enjoy life as it comes to him, but you have to know a return to the ring is something Big E would welcome.
