AEW World Tag Team Champion Cash Wheeler was arrested on Friday morning in Orlando, Florida. This came as quite a surprise, and AEW has already made a public statement on this arrest. It seems that this issue was something that Wheeler might have thought was taken care of already.
Cash Wheeler was taken into custody by the Orlando Police Department and subsequently charged with a single count of aggravated assault with a firearm. County records indicate that he was booked in Circuit Court.
PW Insider reports that Cash Wheeler actually already appeared in court on August 3rd, where he pleaded not guilty to this aggravated assault with a firearm charge. It is unknown what led to Friday morning’s arrest, but it did not take place “overnight.”
“Wheeler filed a plead of not guilty to the the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm via his attorney with the circuit court of Orange County, Florida on 8/3. The charge is considered a third degree felony in the State of Florida. So, whatever incident led to the arrest, it happened several weeks ago and was not something that took place overnight.”
We previously reported that Cash Wheeler could see some prison time for this arrest. As of this writing, we have no further details about what is going on with the FTR member, but we will provide constant updates as they are made available.
FTR has a huge match scheduled for All In London against the Young Bucks. Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood are actually okay with Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson, despite the obvious CM Punk issue. We will have to see if AEW has to alter their booking for that massive Wembley Stadium show now.
