WWE is always figuring things out, and they were placed in a difficult situation when 1/2 of their Women’s Tag Team Champions went out of action. The company previously placed a lot of hope that Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green’s team would revitalize the women’s tag team division, but they had to go with a different plan.

Ringside News reached out to inquire about the current state of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. We were told by a tenured member of the creative team that a decision about the titles has been made.

WWE has made a decision about what they will do with the Women’s Tag Team Titles. There are no “discussions” at this point, and they will either announce their plan during SmackDown this week or RAW on Monday.

We will have to see how WWE books this situation. Chelsea Green is still doing interviews, with both titles, and she even proposed Chelsea’s Got Talent audition to be her next partner. That might be a hard task, because she’s already had two good partners so far in a very short time.

Carmella was originally slotted with Chelsea Green, and their Karen team was taking off. Then Carmella was taken out of action when it was revealed that she was pregnant. Sonya Deville was placed with Green, and that seemingly worked out even better. The two became WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions before Deville’s tragic ACL injury took her out of action. Now, we find ourselves at the cusp of a new phase for those titles.

Keep checking back with Ringside News as we continue covering this ongoing situation. WWE is not trashing their Women’s Tag Team Championships, and that is the most important part of this. Although it is terrible Sonya Deville was injured, at least the company has a plan to carry on.
