AEW has certainly come a long way since its inception back in 2019 and has grown in various ways since then. That said, not everything about AEW has received praise from fans and critics alike. AEW President Tony Khan keeps tabs on anything that goes on in pro wrestling and it appears he hit back at Triple H calling AEW a secondary promotion.

The AEW President is certainly one of the most passionate people in the pro wrestling business, who truly loves the business and wants it to improve in any way possible. That said, he still gets criticized quite often.

Triple H recently called AEW secondary promotion as part of Cody Rhodes’ new documentary on Peacock. While speaking with The Orlando Sentinel, Tony Khan addressed Triple H’s remark about AEW.

The AEW President made it clear that he believes AEW is not a secondary promotion, citing AEW All In’s success in the United Kingdom, adding that WWE is now secondary in various markets.

“We certainly won’t be the secondary promotion at All In,” he said. “We’re No. 1 in the UK, on TV and with a record gate. I have a lot of respect for Cody. I know these weren’t his words, to be fair, but we’re not secondary in a lot of markets — for the first time in a long time, WWE has been secondary in a lot of markets. … I’m proud of where we’re at and we’re not taking a back seat to anybody.”

AEW has certainly seen a ton of growth and nothing will change that. Tony Khan is determined to make AEW the best wrestling promotion in the world and he is working hard to make that happen. We’ll have to see how the All In pay-per-view will fare this month.
