The current situation surrounding Kyle O’Reilly’s wrestling career remains uncertain, according to information provided by Sean Ross Sapp in a Fightful Select Q&A. O’Reilly underwent neck fusion surgery and had his broken neck fixed, but it will be a long time, if ever, before he returns to the ring.
O’Reilly has not competed in a wrestling match since June 8, 2022, on an episode of AEW Dynamite. In that match, he faced Jon Moxley in an Interim AEW World Championship number one contender’s match, which ultimately resulted in a loss for O’Reilly.
Fans have speculated about a potential return for O’Reilly, especially with his former partner Adam Cole being part of the popular act with MJF in AEW. However, based on the information provided, O’Reilly’s return to wrestling is uncertain and might not happen for a significant amount of time, if at all.
“Same as Big E, it’s a broken neck, fixed the broken neck, and a long time (before he returns), if ever,” Sean said.
As of now, fans will have to wait for any official updates or announcements regarding Kyle O’Reilly’s wrestling career. In the meantime, Adam Cole’s storyline with Roderick Strong and MJF continues to unfold on AEW television.
