Booker T Bummed That Fight With Ryback Is Off

Ryback was throwing bombs on Twitter, and it moved on to his live streams. Booker T took shots in that spree, and he wasn’t backing down. Now, it appears that fight isn’t happening.

Booker T fired back to Ryback calling him “b*tch,” among other things. Booker T said it was pretty much on-site whenever they happen to run into each other. It wouldn’t even be the kind of thing that anyone might ever know about, but Booker alluded to the idea that a confrontation was going to go down.

Now, it appears that fight isn’t happening, and Booker T is bummed about it. At first, Ryback proposed a Bellator-style fight between the two. Booker, while agreeing to the challenge, expressed reservations about the idea of having any credible sanctioning body oversee their fight. Instead, he suggested a more informal approach, where they would engage in combat if they coincidentally met in a public setting.

However, during the latest episode of The Hall of Fame podcast, it was disclosed why the anticipated match between Ryback and Booker T has now been canceled.

“I was listening to Ryback talk, and he said he wanted to get paid for the fight. So you want somebody to set it up and he’ll fight me and it’ll be Ryback vs. WWE — and I represent WWE. I don’t know why WWE came into this. This is supposed to be between Ryback and I. It’s supposed to be [hand and hand]. It’s supposed to be [like] back in the day, I’m talking about two gunslingers back to back. Ten paces, bang bang! I thought that was going to be something like that, but now he’s talking about he has to get paid, and this, that, and whatnot.”

We will have to see if Ryback and Booker T ever re-spark this little beef. It really came out of nowhere, because there was no history between the two that would cause static, however, Ryback still popped off in a big way about the two-time WWE Hall of Famer.
