Jay Briscoe will be remembered as a legendary figure in the world of tag team wrestling. He was renowned for his unparalleled in-ring abilities and his unwavering dedication to thrilling audiences. The wrestling community was deeply affected by Jay’s passing and continues to grieve his loss. Seth Rollins was one of them and it appears he was emotional after wrestling in Briscoe’s hometown just months after his passing.

The ROH Hall of Famer was tragically involved in a fatal car accident on January 17th, 2023. The Delaware State Police confirmed that another driver crossed the center line and collided with his vehicle head-on.

Seth Rollins shared a deep bond with Jay Briscoe from their days together in Ring of Honor. In fact, the Visionary earned his first ROH contract after wrestling Jay Briscoe. Rollins even honored Briscoe by wrestling in his hometown of Salisbury, Maryland, during a recent WWE live event.

Following the conclusion of the event, Seth Rollins took to Twitter and commented on his performance at Jay Briscoe’s hometown. Rollins noted that he was emotional after his match with Finn Balor and ended his post with Jay Briscoe’s iconic catchphrase, “Reach for the sky.”

Emotional night. Thank you #WWESalisbury

WWE also has major plans for Seth Rollins as far as his SummerSlam opponent is concerned. Regardless, we will have to wait and see how WWE will continue to book Rollins and Finn Balor’s feud in the coming weeks.
