Incredibly Rare John Cena Match Resurfaces Online

John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and carried the company on his back throughout the PG era. He is now a worldwide name as people know him from all corners of the world. Cena had humble beginnings prior to making it big in WWE and now it appears a very rare John Cena match has resurfaced online.

When John Cena debuted on the main roster in 2002, his future was uncertain in the company as many felt he didn’t have what it takes to make it in the business. It didn’t help his character had no depth to it.

While competing in OVW, John Cena wrestled under the gimmick of The Prototype. Before joining WWE’s developmental ground, Cena was The Prototype in the independent circuit.

One of John Cena’s earliest matches as The Prototype took place saw him team with Bad Boy Basil as they defeated  Genio and Mariachi Loco at an independent show in Anaheim, California in 2000. You can check out his entrance at the 47:30 mark of the video.

John Cena also returned during the WWE Money In The Bank Premium Live event. We will have to wait and see when The Leader of Cenation will return to WWE television once again.
