Melina Believes Mercedes Mone Is Avoiding Her For A Match

Melina is undoubtedly one of the most important names in the history of the WWE women’s division, as she worked hard to establish herself as one of the better female wrestlers during her time in the company. Now it appears she believes Mercedes Mone is ducking her for a match.

Melina played a vital role in the women’s division during the mid-2000s, when the era of Lita and Trish Stratus was coming to a close. Alongside talented performers such as Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, and Mickie James, Melina helped lead the division during a time when female wrestlers did not have the same opportunities as they do today.

During the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match, Mercedes Mone came out as the #1 entrant in the Women’s Royal Rumble match while Melina came out as the #2.

The two had a back-and-forth and a battle of showing off their moves. In the end, Mercedes Mone eliminated Melina in a very short time, which certainly irked a lot of fans. Fans have wondered if the two would ever square off against each other since then.

While speaking during a live stream on Twitter, Melina talked about facing Mercedes Mone in a match. She was asked whether she thought Mone was afraid of her, and she replied that she didn’t think so. That said, Melina claimed Mone is ducking her for a match.

“No I don’t think she’s scared to wrestle me. I don’t think so. But at the same time, I’m like, ‘Hmmm. Hmmm. What’s going on here? Why are you avoiding me?’ Maybe it’s because we have this mutual you know, it’s kind of hard to have like somebody you’re developing a friendship with and have to face each other. It’s like, ‘Nooo, maybe it’s that, it’s that.’ But at the same time, we know without question what kind of match that would be. It would be kind of awesome.”

We will have to wait and see whether Melina and Mercedes Mone will be able to duke it out inside the squared circle in a proper match. After all, a match between the two would certainly be possible now.
