Sting shocked the world when he made his debut in AEW back in December 2020. Since then, he has been featured heavily on AEW television, being paired up with Darby Allin. He had a match on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite and it appears Sting is doing great after a scary spot in the match.

Despite being over 60, Sting certainly has been competing at an unexpectedly high level, and that has certainly impressed fans and pro wrestlers alike. He has also taken part in cinematic matches and various other matches in the past.

As seen on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Sting and Darby Allin squared off against Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in a Tornado Tag Team Match. The match included a spot where Sting jumped off a ladder and sent Guevara through a table with a splash. The spot was definitely a rough one for The Icon and fans were shocked as well.

Sting himself stated that he would need bunch of stitches on his lips after the spot. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Darby Allin provided an update on Sting’s condition after the scary spot and revealed that The Stinger is doing great.

“He’s (Sting) actually doing great. We talked the day after (he jumped off the ladder on Dynamite) and he said he was feeling great which is awesome because I pulled him aside after that match and said, ‘Yo, just be honest with me, how you feeling? Not just your mouth but your neck, every single thing about your body’ because people forget, he kind of retired in 2014, you know? When he took a buckle bomb, people kind of think that, you know? So for him to be going as hard and trust me when I say this, it’s none of my ideas, it’s all him. He’s just like, ‘All right, there’s a ladder here tonight, I’ll jump off it’ and a lot of people think it’s me being kind of being the bad influence but nah, it’s him. He’s got that hunger, he’s got that want to give the fans something and he’s feeling great and I’m stoked.”

Sting also made it clear he will not end his career at AEW All In in London. Regardless, we will have to wait and see how AEW will continue to book Sting in the coming weeks as fans feel he will retire soon enough.

What’s your view on what Sting did? Do you think he should stop doing such dangerous spots at his age? Let us know in the comments!
