Alicia Fox had quite run in WWE, but it wasn’t without controversy. It seems that she also injured Beth Phoenix during her time in the ring, but she’s not even sure if it got her any heat backstage.

Beth Phoenix sustained facial injuries during a botched leg drop from Alicia Fox on an episode of WWE RAW in December 2011. In a recent interview, Fox addressed the speculation that this incident led to WWE officials canceling her push.

During the match, Alicia Fox defeated then-Divas Champion Beth Phoenix in a non-title bout that lasted 48 seconds. Fox secured the victory by executing her somersault leg drop finisher, unintentionally causing injury to Phoenix’s face with her boot.

While speaking to Ring the Belle, Fox revealed that she is still uncertain if the incident resulted in backstage repercussions for her. She clarified that Phoenix never expressed any concerns or issues with her after the match.

“I remember hearing that rumor, so I can agree with that,” Fox said. “I don’t know if that was what stopped my career. I and her have never even talked about [the incident], so I never knew any of that stuff. I don’t know.”

Alicia Fox has certainly come a long way in the pro wrestling business, and odds are, her journey is not over yet. She just booked a match for Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling company, and you never know if her veteran knowledge might be useful elsewhere.

WWE let a few of their Superstars go over the years, but does Alicia Fox deserve another run in the company? Sound off in the comments!
