John Cena arrived in London for Money in the Bank, and his appearance at the O2 Arena was a big surprise. He really pulled for London to get their own WrestleMania event, but that will be quite a wait, if it ever happens.

John Cena said that London deserves a WrestleMania event. That statement was received very well by fans in the O2 Arena, and WWE really wants to bring WrestleMania to London as well. They just need to work something out with the host city.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE has no plan on bringing WrestleMania to London any time soon. At this point, although the city hasn’t been officially announced, WrestleMania in 2025 will go to the United States.

WrestleMania is set for Philadelphia in 2024, and WWE is in the late stages of finalizing the 2025 WrestleMania city, which we’ve heard to be a city in the United States. The earliest a WrestleMania could hit London is 2026 unless something drastic happens, and WWE sources told us they don’t find it likely on the horizon. However, there was a survey taker near media day this week asking about what cities in the UK would be most convenient for a HYPOTHETICAL Royal Rumble or SummerSlam in the area. Among those cities listed were London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. WrestleMania was not mentioned on that survey.

WrestleMania brings a ton of money to their host market, but London is already the #1 tourist city in Europe. They don’t need to pay WWE for the show of shows, a practice, that WWE wants to keep up. WWE going to London for WrestleMania and not charging them might also cause a problem for cities who did pay them.

WWE has a lot of options, because practically every city would love to host a WrestleMania event. Only time will tell if London gets the showcase of the immortals, but we will certainly be paying close attention to see what happens.

WrestleMania could be a huge show in London, but do you think the city will ever pay for the show? Sound off in the comments!
