Carmelo Hayes wrestled during the go-home episode of WWE RAW before Money in the Bank, but suffered a loss to Finn Balor. Despite that loss, it appears that many in WWE really took notice to his abilities, because he turned some heads in the midst of that defeat.

BWE tweeted out to say that there was great enthusiasm surrounding Hayes before his match on Monday night. After the match, Hayes received applause backstage at the Gorilla Position.

The proven WWE insider tweeted out during RAW: “Applauses at gorilla for King Melo.” This was a strong indication that Carmelo Hayes is going to fit in well on the WWE main roster when that day comes.


It remains uncertain when Carmelo Hayes will be called up to the main roster. While his in-ring debut on RAW took place on Monday, it was actually his fourth appearance on the main roster.

Carmelo Hayes has some experience on the WWE main roster already. He teamed with Trick Williams in a dark match loss to The Viking Raiders on the November 12th, 2021 SmackDown, defeated Cedric Alexander on the October 13, 2022 WWE Main Event episode, and defeated Akira Tozawa on the March 6 Main Event episode.

During the second episode of NXT Gold Rush, Carmelo Hayes is scheduled to defend the NXT Title against free agent Baron Corbin. We will have to see how that turns out.
