WWE has helped create a ton of memories through the years, and Dominik Mysterio is responsible for many of them. Sadly, he didn’t get off to the right start with everyone.

Natalya opened up about her match against Rhea Ripley at Night of Champions 2023 and shed light on the unexpected turn of events involving Dominik Mysterio. Things didn’t go the way she might have planned at all.

While fans didn’t anticipate Rhea Ripley losing her SmackDown Women’s Championship to Natalya at the event in Saudi Arabia, the match took a surprising twist. In just over a minute, Natalya emerged victorious after being aided by the distraction caused by Dominik Mysterio, ultimately shifting the tide in her favor.

During her conversation with Bill Apter, Natalya expressed her dissatisfaction with Dominik’s behavior, describing it as “disrespectful” and “rude” during their encounter. The RAW Superstar revealed that Dominik engaged in trash talk to deliberately distract her. Taking responsibility for the loss, Natalya acknowledged that she shouldn’t have allowed herself to be affected by Dominik’s antics.

“Dom was disrespectful to me, but not in the same way he was disrespectful to his dad. But he was just saying things that were rude. Like, you’re not on Mami’s level, you suck, and you don’t belong here; you’ve only gotten here because of your family. Those were some of the things he was saying to me. So I just turned around and took my eyes off Rhea, and that’s why I’m so upset because I did not stay focused, and I let something special slip through my fingers.”

“I think Cody wins. That’s what I think. If they want heat, they can easily get it after the match. Ripley could slap his face or something. They can do a multitude of things after the match, and I think Dominik losing wouldn’t hurt him at all. And I think you’ll see an old-time match, and they’ll play off the crowd and have a bit of a great match. I think the crowd will be electric in the match.”

Natalya was able to flex her mental resilience in professional wrestling, because she’s far from over. Despite the unexpected interference, Natalya acknowledged the need to remain composed and not allow external distractions to impact her performance. This also serves as a reminder of the challenges wrestlers face both inside and outside the ring.

The London crowd is expected to be firmly on Cody Rhodes’ side at Money in the Bank, as Dominik Mysterio is one of the most despicable heels in WWE today. After all, Rey Mysterio’s son can’t pick up a microphone without drawing a massive amount of heat.

What’s your take on this situation with Rey Mysterio’s son in WWE? Is he the best heel in the business? Sound off in the comments!
