Lacey Evans Defended Against Gimmick Stealing Accusations

Lacey Evans has undeniable star power in WWE and clearly has an indomitable spirit in it. That said, her booking in the past few years has left a lot to be desired. Now it appears that Booker T defended Lacey Evans against gimmick stealing accusations.

Lacey Evans sported a new look after she returned, wearing a camouflage jacket and hat, similar to Sgt. Slaughter. This led to Slaughter’s daughter calling her out for stealing his look. This essentially opened up a can of worms with even Sgt. Slaughter getting involved in a big way.

While speaking on his Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker T shared his thoughts on Lacey Evans being accused of stealing Sgt. Slaughter’s gimmick. Booker T made it clear that Sgt. Slaughter has no say in the matter whatsoever.

“It doesn’t matter. I don’t think Sarge has any say in whether someone has a certain gimmick or not, if they wanna do an army gimmick or not, if they wanna do the Cobra Clutch or not. That’s just not the way the business works. On the other hand, some things [are] almost like [too] sacred to be rehashed or anything like that. I just don’t think, where the world is right now, we’re gonna need a savior like Sgt. Slaughter coming in to ‘save America.’”

Sgt. Slaughter wasn’t happy about Lacey Evans using his move either. WWE also has no plans to push Lacey Evans despite her return. Regardless, we will have to wait and see what will become of Lacey Evans in the end.
