During the latest episode of AEW Collision, CM Punk made a reference to Hulk Hogan during the show’s main event match. This was not lost on anyone.

As the highly anticipated Forbidden Door event approaches, CM Punk made his return to Canada on AEW Collision, featuring prominently in the main event for the second consecutive week. That was also a match which saw CM Punk and FTR teaming together for another week.

In a previous episode of Dynamite, CM Punk, along with FTR and Ricky Starks, came to the aid of the Hardy Boyz as they were being attacked by Bullet Club Gold and The Gunn Club. The arrival of Punk and his allies caused the heels to retreat.

CM Punk took the opportunity to challenge the opposing team to an 8-man tag team match, which was officially scheduled for the current episode of Collision.

As the show took place in Canada, Punk received a mixed reaction from the crowd. Embracing the response, the Second City Savior imitated Hollywood Hulk Hogan. During his match against one of the Gunns, Punk executed Hogan’s iconic Big Boot move, followed by the Hall of Famer’s trademark taunt and capped it off with the Leg Drop, paying homage in a light-hearted manner.

This is interesting, because CM Punk has called Hulk Hogan a “piece of sh*t” in the past. You may check out the video clip below.

We will have to see what CM Punk does next. It appears that he doesn’t mind getting under fans’ skin, especially if they are going to boo him anyway.
