Erick Redbeard, the former Erick Rowan, was let go by WWE back in 2020 as part of the COVID-19 budget cuts. He went back to the indies afterwards and has appeared in various promotions including AEW since then. Now it appears Rowan revealed who is responsible for his WWE release.

Erick Redbeard has made a few appearances on AEW television. The first time was during the Brodie Lee tribute show back in December 2020. After that, he appeared back in March of last year.

While speaking on the Heated Shenanigans Podcast, Erick Rowan talked about his WWE release. Erick Rowan simply blamed himself for getting fired and not WWE Creative.

“If something doesn’t work, I blame myself, I don’t blame creative. I do whatever they ask me to, to the best of my ability. If they say talk, I’ll go out there and talk. if they say don’t say a word, I go out there and don’t say a word. I try to do things to make myself interesting with whatever parameters they give you.”

Erick Redbeard also hinted at returning to WWE. With Triple H hiring previously-released WWE Superstars as of late, it would not be far-fetched to believe Erick Redbeard could be returning as well.
