Tony Khan has been known to drop a lot of money on songs that they use on AEW programming. From Jon Moxley to The Elite, he’s paid tons for the music he wants to fit the mood, and he’s not going cheap with the Collision theme song, either.

AEW Collision will be on Saturday nights, and Tony Khan picked the perfect song for that occasion. Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” will be the new AEW Collision theme song.

AEW released the official opening video for their upcoming Collision show. AEW President Tony Khan shared his thoughts on the music in an interview with pitchfork.com

“Elton John’s ‘Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting’ is the perfect song to kick off the return of Saturday night wrestling to a Turner network for the first time in over 20 years. With the song’s iconic opening guitar riff and nostalgic wrestling energy, it was my top choice to lead in Collision. It’s the ultimate intro to the exciting storylines and hard-hitting wrestling action that Collision will deliver to fans on TNT every Saturday night!”

We will have to see how AEW Collision pans out. Tony Khan picked a good song for his Saturday show, but the big question is whether fans will tune in every week to see the action on what is historically a very difficult night for pro wrestling television shows.

What’s your take on AEW Collision? Is it a big mistake to bring CM Punk back? Sound off in the comments!
