AEW Collision finally debuted tonight, and they had a lot going on within the company. Ace Steel was also a part of the show, but his involvement was just as expected.

Ace Steel was fired after Brawl Out. He was re-hired, but he’s not allowed to actually attend the events in person. He must work remotely, and that is exactly what happened for the debut episode.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Ace Steel is in Chicago for Collision. That being said, he did not go to the United Center for the show.

For those wondering, Ace Steel is in Chicago, but will not be in attendance at Collision, or any AEW shows as of now. He is signed to the company and helping out with CM Punk’s storylines. He’s sitting in for Lars of the Wrestling Perspective Podcast in June, Mondays on Fightful.

AEW actually re-hired Ace Steel a while ago. As we previously mentioned, Ace Steel was the sticking point with CM Punk, since AEW was willing to re-hire Steel, but he wasn’t allowed in the building for their television taping events. AEW has since denied that they re-hired Ace Steel.

CM Punk was trained by Ace Steel, so there is an allegiance there. Hopefully, his new role in AEW is one that satisfies him, because it’s better than nothing.
