Seth Rollins is a fighting champion, and he has two title defenses on his plate right now. Before he faces Finn Balor at Money in the Bank on July 1st, he must get through Bron Breakker at NXT Gold Rush on June 20th. That match is a big one for NXT, and it also falls into the company’s new strategy to keep a focus on the brand.

Nick Khan made the call within WWE to give NXT a larger focus. The idea is to get main roster talent to the developmental brand to boost ratings before their next television rights deal rolls around.

Ringside News reached out to inquire about Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship, and when the company decided it was going to take place. After all, the timing of his Bron Breakker match after his Money in the Bank defense announcement was a bit interesting.

We were told by a tenured member of the WWE team that those plans for Seth Rollins in NXT were set, “ever since the decision was made that there would be major integration with NXT and main roster.” That being said, we’re looking at “several weeks” worth of planning.
