WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is gearing up for a busy week ahead as he prepares to defend his title in two back-to-back matches.

On Monday, June 19, Rollins will participate in an open challenge for his championship on RAW in Cleveland. The following night, he will return to NXT, where his WWE journey began, to defend his title against Bron Breakker.

The challenge was officially accepted by Rollins during this week’s episode of NXT on June 13. In response to the announcement, Rollins took to Twitter, posting a gif of rapper Puff Daddy with the caption “I’m Coming Home,” alluding to his past history on the black and gold brand.

Before his success as a five-time world champion in WWE, Rollins made history as the inaugural NXT Champion in July 2012, defeating Jinder Mahal for the honor. His reign as NXT Champion paved the way for many future world champions, including the likes of Big E, Kevin Owens, and Drew McIntyre.

Bron Breakker, a rising star in NXT, is seen by many as a potential addition to the list of future world champions. Breakker has already held the NXT Title twice, with his second reign totaling an impressive 362 days.

The clash between Rollins and Breakker will take place on special card called NXT Gold Rush. The event will also feature a North American Championship match with Wes Lee facing off against Tyler Bate, with Mustafa Ali serving as the guest referee. Additionally, there will be a match between Cora Jade and Dana Brooke, as well as a three-way tag team match to determine the number one contenders for Gallus’ NXT Tag Team Championship.

During this week’s episode of NXT, Carmelo Hayes’ next challenger for the NXT Championship was also determined, adding further excitement to the upcoming event.

As Rollins prepares to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on both RAW and NXT, fans can anticipate an action-packed week ahead.
