Buff Bagwell grew a lot in front of pro wrestling fans, and he also experienced a real struggle with drugs and alcohol in front of all of his fans as well. Many were worried about Buff for a while, but it seems that he is still The Stuff after all.

During a recent AdFreeShows Q&A session with Eric Bischoff, Buff Bagwell shared an update on his journey to recovery. After experiencing a relapse in 2020, Bagwell has successfully maintained his sobriety and recently celebrated nine months of being clean.

Buff Bagwell also said that this time around, the recovery process has been relatively easier, despite occasional moments that felt prolonged. It’s not an easy road for Buff Bagwell, but he is going to continue that journey.

“It really wasn’t hard when I decided to do this, but the nine-month chip is a big rumor of it’s one of the hardest. It wasn’t a hard chip, but it was the longest. 30 came in no time, 60 came in no time, and then, you know, 90… I went to three or four meetings and I was like, ‘Is it still not been nine months?’ That nine-month shift was a long one.”

“I like going through airports and drinking. I enjoy having a cocktail on an airplane… That was always fun for me, but that’s not on the board anymore, so now it just goes to, you know, what I go to is food. That was always a thing for me, was eating healthy of course, so I just dove back into being body Marcus Bagwell.”

It seems that Buff Bagwell is doing a bit better, but he had to go through a real trial in the process. His legal issues also drew headlines, because he raked up a slew of charges related to irresponsible driving practices.

Only time will tell if Buff Bagwell ever makes it back to WWE, or any other televised pro wrestling company. It’s good to hear from him regardless, and it seems that he is in a much better place than he was before.
