WWE has tried their best to control audience reactions for years. Sometimes this includes the art of sweetening crowd response to give Superstars a reception that the company would rather hear. Booker T doesn’t seem to have an issue with this practice.

Throughout the pandemic, WWE could not have live fans in attendance in the ThunderDome. Instead, they replied on artificial crowd noise to create a realistic atmosphere. Even after live fans returned, WWE is still piping in those reactions.

During his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T addressed WWE piping in crowd reactions during their television events. The way Booker T sees things, nobody would notice unless someone pointed it out to them.

“I think, for me, I am not really paying too much attention to something like that. The thing is, the people that’s writing about it probably wouldn’t have paid a whole lot of attention to it if someone wouldn’t have written about it and said that it actually happened.”

Booker T very well may have been in the ring during many matches that WWE piped in a crowd reaction they would have rather heard. In the end, it’s all about television presentation, and Booker T certainly seems to understand that.

We will have to see what Superstars WWE pipes in a reaction for next. Some Superstars might need the extra help from the company, so fans know how to react. Other times, WWE doesn’t need to give anyone a hint about how a Superstar should be received.
