WWE is making plans for their new NXT call-ups, and it seems that they might have something in store for a standout NXT Superstar who wasn’t even a part of the 2023 WWE Draft.

It was reported by BWE that there were discussions of bringing Ilja Dragunov to the main roster, specifically to join the Imperium faction on RAW. Now, according to a new report from @WRKDWrestling, there are talks of a potential main roster call-up for Dragunov to join Imperium, but likely after WWE SummerSlam in early August.

The idea of Ilja Dragunov joining Imperium is intriguing, considering his history with WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER. However, it remains to be seen whether Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci will continue to be part of the group.

Following Dragunov’s Last Man Standing victory over Dijak at NXT Battleground, the match received praise backstage, along with the tournament finals that saw Tiffany Stratton crowned the new NXT Women’s Champion by defeating Lyra Valkyria.

Reports suggest that NXT officials were extremely pleased with how Battleground unfolded, with some considering it the best NXT “milestone” event in quite some time. One WWE source even remarked that Battleground was “worlds ahead” of the NXT Stand & Deliver show that took place during WrestleMania 39 Weekend.
