AEW has certainly come a long way since its inception back in 2019. AEW President Tony Khan tries to ensure that each week of their regular programming is a must-watch, but that doesn’t always happen. Now it appears that this week’s episode of Dynamite and its subsequent tapings had shockingly low attendance.

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was the go-home edition of the show before Double Or Nothing in Las Vegas, so the company pulled out all the stops in order to make it a memorable show.

The episode showed Mercedes Mone for the first time, which certainly got fans excited. They even had pro wrestling legend Sabu appear on the show during Adam Cole and Chris Jericho’s segment.

However, as revealed by photos provided by one of our readers who attended Dynamite and its subsequent tapings, the arena had around 1k empty seats. It was also noted that the vibe was completely different from their last visit.

In fact, many people were leaving right after AEW Dynamite concluded. Even more left after the Rampage taping and didn’t stay for the ROH tapings either. It was further noted that fans seemed unhappy with the current product.

Few live notes from #AEW tapings tonight from one of our readers who frequents #AEW shows in the Las Vegas area: The arena had probably around 1k empty seats The vibe was completely different, didn’t seem like the same show as last time they visited. People were leaving directly after #AEWDynamite Even more people left after #AEWRampage tapings and didn’t stick around for #ROH For a go-home PPV show, not a good turnout and many of the fans seemed unhappy with the current product. There you go. Don’t shoot the messenger.

AEW Double Or Nothing will be taking place on May 28th and it has a stacked card. Even then, they are using desperate tactics in bid to sell tickets for the pay-per-view. Regardless, we’ll have to see how the pay-per-view will be received by fans and critics alike.
