WWE has a big weekend ahead of them, with events taking place all around the world. This actually caused NXT to change up the way they normally run things, but Shawn Michaels loves the challenge.

WWE Night of Champions is going down in Saudi Arabia on May 27th. NXT is going to run Battleground in Lowell. Massachusetts on May 28th. That doesn’t give WWE’s crew any time to make the NXT event.
PW Insider provided notes from the NXT conference call with Shawn Michaels. HBK was asked about how the Battleground event is running with Night of Champions going on as well. He admitted that they will run the show with a smaller crew than usual, but he’s excited to see what they can do.
He said they will have a much smaller crew this weekend due to the event in Saudi but he loves his job, so none of it seems like work. He looks at it as excitement not a burden. He’s a 57 year old teenager. He’s happy to be there with a younger roster that are excited to be there and live out their dreams. He’s had a lot of good memories in Lowell, MA and is looking forward to going back. He lost his smile there and he’ll find it again.
Shawn Michaels is obviously loving his life, and he’s also having a blast as a part of NXT. Only time will tell what’s next for NXT, but HBK already made it very clear that he doesn’t intend to run any more events against AEW pay-per-views.
Triple H and Vince McMahon tried to get Shawn Micahels to take a job with NXT for a long time, but he never wanted to leave his home in Texas. Now, odds are he is very happy that he made that jump.
