Carlito was one of the highlights of WWE’s mid-card division during his time in the company but was eventually released in 2010. While he appeared during the 2021 Royal Rumble, it wasn’t until his Backlash return earlier this month that it truly felt like Carlito came back home. Now it appears Carlito finally revealed how he kept his return a secret.

Caribbean Cool returned during Bad Bunny and Damian Priest’s San Juan Street Fight at the Backlash Premium Live Event. The pro wrestling veteran came out to even the odds after The Judgment Day interfered in the match.

Just to make fans happy, Carlito hit his signature Backstabber and even got to spit an apple in Dominik Mysterio’s face. Fans went ballistic when they saw him, as the live crowd reaction showed just how much they missed him.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Carlito talked about his return at WWE Backlash. Carribean Cool would then go on to explain how he managed to keep his return at the event a secret.

”It was great man, it was good and it was something that they wanted for a long time, you know what I mean? And it was cool that the secret didn’t get out. I was surprised. I kept on thinking at some point, somebody’s gonna leak some of it. No, nothing ever came out of it so they really did not expect it at all that night.

I braided my hair and I put a beanie on and then I wore a hoodie. Then I got in the night before like really late and I just went straight to my room and then the next day, I just kind of put the hoodie on — but it didn’t really work because people started recognizing me anyway but I don’t know, the word didn’t get out. Because I remember for the (Royal) Rumble, I don’t know, like days out, people were already stooging off that I was gonna come out. So I was afraid it was gonna be the same thing this time but, damn, I didn’t really see it anywhere. “

Carlito even joked that his indie wrestling price will be going up after WWE Backlash. There is also the chance that he could make more appearances after the event. We’ll have to see what Carlito will end up doing next.
