Jon Moxley debuted at AEW Double Or Nothing 2019 and instantly made an impact, as he went on to become one of the biggest stars in the company as well as pro wrestling in general. That said, Moxley recently claimed he is the greatest thing in pro wrestling and that didn’t sit well with Jim Cornette.

The Purveyor of Violence and Kenny Omega have had a longstanding rivalry that started from Moxley’s arrival in AEW. They would square off against each other on four different occasions since then.

Their latest bout took place on AEW Dynamite last week, where they beat each other up in a steel cage match. Ahead of the match, Jon Moxley took part in an interview where he described the rivalry as the “apex of professional wrestling” and talked about his role with Omega at the top of AEW.

While speaking on the latest episode of the Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette did not take too kindly to what Jon Moxley had to say and blasted him for claiming that Moxley is the greatest thing in pro wrestling.

“Who has convinced this guy that he is that good? I mean, I could see some people with lower standards going, ‘Ah, he’s alright,’ but how could anybody have convinced him that he is this big megastar, and this great wrestler, and this incredible box office attraction? Who has told him that, and how can we get them a phone call with BetterHelp?

Even if you think that you are that good, who talks like that unless you’re a heel in gimmick? Who actually comes out, ‘Oh real I’m the greatest thing?’ I mean, he went to rehab. At some point, don’t they sit you down and make you look at yourself realistically and what your strengths, weaknesses, good points, faults, whatever, are? How can he legitimately believe? How can he look in the mirror? How can he watch himself on video tape?

Does he not see that ridiculously underdeveloped body? The pale flesh, the lack of f****** hair on the top of his head, the f****** lack of quality work, the lack of psychology, the f****** lack of bladesmanship?

I’m glad that he didn’t decide to become the next sleight of hand artist. F******* Criss Angel has nothing to worry about, but what is it that he thinks that he does well? ‘Cause we can’t find it.”

Jon Moxley also stated that people only hate The Elite because they hate themselves. Jon Moxley also won the steel cage match after Don Callis betrayed Kenny Omega. We’ll have to see how AEW will continue to book their feud in the coming weeks.

What’s your view on what Jim Cornette said? Do you believe Jon Moxley is simply full of himself? Sound off in the comments!
