There has been clarification on the status of professional wrestler Kota Ibushi following recent updates about his relationship with NJPW.
Ibushi officially became a free agent back in February after his NJPW contract expired. Reports from Dark Puroresu Flowsion indicated that Ibushi had received a new offer from NJPW, leaving the possibility of a return open.
However, Dark Puroresu Flowsion has now clarified their earlier statement, stating that Ibushi told them that AEW remains his top priority.
“As I stated yesterday, NJPW has an offer in for Kota Ibushi. He told me AEW is his #1 priority still. Priority #1 is Golden Lovers.”
The mention of the “Golden Lovers” refers to Ibushi’s former tag team partnership with Kenny Omega, who is a prominent figure in AEW. Ibushi has been teasing his AEW debut and has expressed his desire to communicate with AEW President Tony Khan in the near future.
Furthermore, Ibushi has pitched the idea of a tag team match featuring the reunited Golden Lovers at AEW All In, a highly anticipated event. Fans are eagerly awaiting any developments regarding Ibushi’s future and the potential collaborations between him, AEW, and NJPW.
