CM Punk is supposed to be coming back to work for AEW, and he might need to hit the gym to prepare for that in-ring return. We’re not sure about Punk’s entire workout, but it certainly involves some time on the treadmill.

Despite being a loyal Chicago Blackhawks fan, CM Punk recently paid homage to a Colorado Avalanche legend. CM Punk has been actively keeping his fans updated on the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs on his Instagram story, sharing photos and captions during games.

In a recent post, while working out, CM Punk Punk was spotted wearing a shirt featuring a snapshot of Patrick Roy during his notorious brawl with Detroit Red Wings goalie Mike Vernon. Punk zoomed in on the shirt and posed the question, “What Would Patrick Roy Do?”

That mention certainly means that CM Punk is aware of the iconic Colorado Avalanche goaltender and his curiosity about how Roy would handle certain situations on and off the ice.

Patrick Roy was famous for his brutal tactics on the ice, which propelled him to rack up four Stanley Cup victories throughout his career. His fiery nature is obviously still celebrated to this day.

We’ll have to see when CM Punk comes back, but it’s very likely that he hasn’t lost an ounce of that competitive edge. The big question is how AEW fans will receive him.

What’s your take on CM Punk’s return to AEW? Do you think it will go smoothly? Sound off in the comments!
