WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is certainly one of the greatest pro wrestlers to have ever been a part of the professional wrestling world. The success he saw during his first year in WWE is still unbeaten even now. That being said, it appears that Kurt Angle really had a hard time at WWE’s developmental brand.

Kurt Angle has squared off against the best of the best the pro wrestling world had to offer, including the likes of The Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit and more. His accolades speak for themselves.

Angle also had the best rookie year in WWE history, after transitioning from amateur wrestling. Interestingly enough, Angle had a lot of difficulty training in WWE’s developmental brand.

While speaking on a recent episode of The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic Gold Medalist talked about his time in WWE developmental. Angle recalled that it was so punishing that he literally quit on the first day and described it as self-abuse.

“Starting out, you only trained five days [and] you trained all day long. You’re taking 300 bumps a day. It was brutal. I literally quit after the first day because I was like, ‘I can’t do this.’ I told my manager I can’t bump around like this [because] it’s like beating the s*** out of yourself.’

“He said to stay until the end of the day to see if I could make it and I did, but I was ready to walk out because it was like self-abuse. [And] the thing is, I was only doing this five days a month, then I would go home and wait for 25 days.”

Kurt Angle had talks with Marvel head Kevin Feige regarding role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also recently turned down a WWE Draft apperance. We’ll have to wait and see what is next in store for Kurt Angle.
