Trinity Fatu was one of the mainstays of WWE’s women’s division during her time in the company. After all, she won the Smackdown Women’s Champion and was regularly featured in better feuds. That said, Fatu was never able to fully explore her character there. Now it appears that Fatu wanted to be a Naomi Campbell knockoff at first.

Formerly known as Naomi in WWE, Trinity Fatu was largely popular thanks to her neon glow-inspired character and her ‘feel the glow’ attitude. Quite a few fans resonated with what she showed off.

While speaking with Denise Salcedo, Trinity Fatu revealed that when she first made her way into the world of professional wrestling, Fatu wanted to be a knockoff of Naomi Campbell.

That’s where I picked my first wrestling name; that’s where I came up with Naomi because I had this idea. I couldn’t use my real name that was the initial one I wanted to use. But then I was like, maybe I can be this knockoff Naomi Cambell in the ring. I had this whole idea concept but that never worked out, so then I was just stuck with the name Naomi.

When I originally came in I would be a heel so I had this idea of being this bougie, shady, wannabe supermodel who was just not it. But I did it for like a few weeks but I was like this ain’t it.”

In case you did not know, Naomi Campbell is a supermodel who has been ruling over the fashion industry for decades now. Due to her immense star power, Campbell made appearances in movies, TV shows and more.

That said, Trinity is set to compete at Impact Wrestling’s Under Seige event as she has an open contract to wrestle at the upcoming event. The identity of her opponent has always been revealed. We’ll have to see how her upcoming match will turn out.
