WWE has a roster full of hungry talent in NXT, all wanting to grab that brass ring and prove themselves. Sadly, an injury to a promising young Superstar stalled their momentum, and it also nixed a tag team.

WWE’s developmental brand lost all of their women’s champions during the WWE Draft. Indi Hartwell was called up along with NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. It appears that a team that could have challenged for those tag team titles was put on ice because of an injury.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Sol Ruca had ACL surgery this week. That injury came at a terrible time, because WWE was making plans for her to team with an exciting new addition to the women’s division.

Sol Ruca underwent surgery this past week for her torn ACL. Before her injury, there was talk of making Ruca & Dani Palmer into a major pushed babyface tag team in NXT. They were so high on them there was talk of them getting the NXT tag belts within a few months but that obviously isn’t happening

We’ll have to see if Sol Ruca is able to make it back to the ring soon. At this time, we don’t have a timetable for her comeback, but Dani Palmer will be waiting for her.

Dani Palmer made her big debut on NXT this week, and she picked up a win. Only time will tell where she is going next in NXT, but a lot of room was opened up in the roster with so many main roster call-ups as part of the 2023 WWE Draft.

What’s your take on WWE NXT nixing that tag team? Would Dani Palmer and Sol Ruca be a good duo? Sound off in the comments!
