Roman Reigns was the first pick in the 2023 WWE Draft. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion was chosen alongside Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman to continue on SmackDown, but that brings up a big question about his future on the brand.

Since Roman Reigns has run roughshod over the WWE roster for years, that limits the opponents he has that could create fresh matches. One narrative going around is claiming to have a spoiler for Roman Reigns’ next opponent, but we must shut that down.

A story is going around that AJ Styles is going to face Roman Reigns next for his titles. We reached out to confirm that story, but we were told that is not the case at all.

Ringside News was told by a tenured member of the WWE writing team that Roman Reigns vs AJ Styles is “not even close to an accurate guess” for the Head of the Table’s next opponent. That should squash a few of the rumors going around right now.

AJ Styles returned to WWE SmackDown when he was drafted to the brand along with the OC. They made an impression on the show right after that, but it doesn’t appear the Phenomenal One will have any interaction with the Tribal Chief in the immediate future.

We will have continued coverage of the 2023 WWE Draft right here at Ringside News. A lot of things could go down during the draft that will set the stage for months to come. WWE has a plan in place for Roman Reigns as well, but they keep that very close to the vest.

What’s your take on Roman Reigns’ future on WWE SmackDown? Do you think that AJ Styles could beat him for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title? Sound off in the comments!
