Gimmick infringement is a very big deal in pro wrestling. No wrestler wants to see someone cash in on their gimmick. That being said, some might see similarities in different gimmicks as well that are not intentional.

We previously covered that Warlord recently spoke to Wrestling News, where he went into the issue of that class-action concussion lawsuit that he was part of. He also addressed another very interesting issue about accusations that Demolition and Powers of Pain were rip-offs.

When the Warlord was asked if The Legion of Doom were viewed as imitators of Demolition and Powers of Pain, because they were in WWE before Legion of Doom, he had a very honest reply. Simply put, the LOD are GOATS.

“The Road Warriors are always going to be the GOATS of the business. They will always be the best of all time. No one can ever tell me and no one will ever touch the Road Warriors. They changed tag team wrestling. Animal and Hawk had people going. To this day, everybody with the spikes and everything else, it’s just unbelievable. I just say I’m lucky enough to be able to work with those guys for a long time and enjoy not only working with them, but also as friends.”

Sadly, the LOD’s run in WWE was hampered by some personal issues with Hawk later on, but fans certainly felt a rush when they were in their prime, dominating the territories and striking fear in their opponents. Thanks to that, their impression on the pro wrestling business will never be doubted.

We’ll have to see what acts are in the pipeline, because some of them might be tributes to the LOD in some ways. No matter what, you can imitate, but you will never be able to replicate the magic that Animal and Hawk had in the squared circle.

What’s your take on this accusation of ripping off the Legion Of Doom? Sound off in the comments!
