Samoa Joe had a successful run in NXT before making his way to the WWE main roster but also experienced being released by the company on two occasions. This made him well-versed in the realities of the industry. Many fans feel his WWE run left much to be desired and it appears Road Dogg shares this view.

At NXT TakeOver 36, Samoa Joe emerged victorious against Karrion Kross, capturing the NXT Championship. Unfortunately, a subsequent injury forced Joe to relinquish the title and resulted in a prolonged absence from NXT programming.

In the end, Samoa Joe was released by the company once again back in January 2022. He eventually made his way to AEW and has since been part of the AEW as well as the ROH roster.

While speaking on the latest episode of his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Road Dogg talked about Samoa Joe’s WWE run. Dogg stated that WWE left money on the table with The Samoan Submission Machine.

100 percent (there was more to Samoa Joe in WWE). I think Samoa Joe is money any way you look at it. He’s a great promo, I believe every word he says, he’s well-spoken, he’s a big tank of a man, he can fly around like a bumblebee. He shouldn’t be able to but he can.

So it’s just incredible how much money is left on the table with Samoa Joe and look, I don’t know how he’s doing now or whatever but I just think from our company and me working with him, man, there was a lot left on the table with Samoa Joe.

Samoa Joe is the current ROH Television Champion and continues to be a defending champion in the ROH brand. He is also set to be portraying the role of Sweet Tooth in the upcoming ‘Twisted Metal’ series on Peacock. We’ll have to see what the future holds for Samoa Joe in the coming weeks.
