WWE Superstars Believe CM Punk Showed Up Before RAW To Hype AEW Return

WWE is in Chicago this week for RAW, and they have quite a show planned. Vince McMahon is making huge changes, and Triple H has a big announcement. The biggest news of the night so far involves CM Punk’s surprise appearance at the Allstate Arena.

As we previously reported, CM Punk was asked to leave WWE RAW this week, but he was backstage for while. Punk reportedly got to see several members of the roster and also talk to Triple H. It was also reported exactly who asked CM Punk to leave.

Sean Sapp went on to note behind Fightful’s paywall that several WWE Superstars were under the belief that CM Punk only showed up to WWE RAW this week to hype his eventual AEW return. Several were also in disbelief that CM Punk was actually there.

Numerous wrestlers in WWE believed that the move was a publicity stunt for a return to AEW soon. There were several AEW talent in disbelief when they heard that he was backstage at Raw. WWE talent were shocked that he got backstage, even though he’s got history in the company.

We’ll have to see what happens with CM Punk and AEW. He could return to the company for their upcoming Saturday show. Only time will tell how that return goes over, but his presence backstage before WWE RAW this week didn’t seem to be a winner.

CM Punk might have had a good time catching up, but he was eventually asked to leave. It was also reported that he left without any incident after he was asked to take off.
