Ronda Rousey made a highly anticipated comeback during the 2022 Royal Rumble event after a nearly three-year absence from WWE. Despite winning two championships after her return, her reigns were relatively unremarkable. Rousey is still on the shelf due to injury and now it appears her WWE title plans are on hold while she remains out of action.

As fans are aware by now, Ronda Rousey has been dealing with a broken forearm for the past couple of months. The former Smackdown Women’s Champion was injured in the lead-up to WrestleMania 39.

Ronda Rousey competed in the four-way ‘showcase’ tag match at WrestleMania 39 but barely did much apart from a couple of spots. Rousey was clearly not ready to compete in the match.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer talked about Ronda Rousey’s injury. Meltzer revealed that Rousey and Shayna Baszler eventually chasing and winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles are on hold while she recovers from injury.

The Rousey & Baszler chase of the women’s tag title is on hold because Rousey is still out of action with her broken forearm. She did WrestleMania because it was WrestleMania in Los Angeles but was clearly not ready and still isn’t ready to return.

It was noted to us that her mentality regarding the injury was basically “F*** it,” she’s doing WrestleMania no matter what, basically because of her mentality from both herself and her mom regarding competing in real sports while injured.”

Obviously, Ronda Rousey’s in-ring return is on hold until she is fully healed. It is expected that Rouse and Shayna Baszler will go after Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships once Rousey is able to compete. It remains to be seen when Rousey will be able to make her in-ring return.

What’s your take on this situation with Ronda Rousey? Do you want to see her return soon? Sound off in the comments!
